ACCA - The global body for professional accountants

If you are already working in a finance role and want to get qualified, or looking for a career change then ACCA has the perfect qualifications for you.

If you have two A Levels and three GCSEs or their equivalent in five separate subjects including English and maths, you can apply to study for the ACCA Qualification. You should choose this qualification if you want to become a professional accountant and have the choice of working in any type of accountancy sector, either in your own country or other countries around the world.

If you don't have these minimum qualifications, you should register for Foundations in Accountancy and study for one, or all, of our entry-level qualifications. These awards have difficulty levels which vary between GCSE level and a degree or HND programme. If you have no previous qualifications, we recommend that when you apply for Foundations in Accountancy, you begin with the first award - Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting. This award is broadly equivalent to GSCE level and you can work your way through the rest of the qualifications from this starting point.

Foundations in Accountancy awards will qualify you to work in a range of different jobs - depending on how many of the qualifications you successfully complete. With the Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting, you will be able to work in a number of junior accounting or bookkeeping roles, and with a full Certified Accounting Technician Qualification you could work in a finance supervisory or management role.

For more information on both the ACCA Qualification and the Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards, please visit the Qualifications at a glance section of the site.
