ACCA - The global body for professional accountants

ACCA is governed by its Council, which ensures that we deliver ACCA’s objectives as outlined in our Royal Charter. It also decides on ACCA's strategic policy objectives, monitors our performance in relation to them and oversees our annual budget.

Council has 36 members who are elected by our members worldwide. Following the latest elections in September 2011, Council has members from 16 different countries, truly reflecting the diversity of ACCA and its members.

The Executive Team

The Executive Team is the primary decision-making body of ACCA's management. It has overall responsibility for the effective delivery of ACCA’s strategy and plans. The Executive Team consists of the following people:

  • Helen Brand - chief executive
  • Kathy Grimshaw – director - markets
  • Stephen Heathcote – executive director – finance and operations
  • Peter Large – executive director - governance
  • Jasmine Lassen – executive director - strategy
  • Clare Minchington – executive director – learning & products
  • Darren Parris – executive director - people
  • Neil Stevenson - executive director – brand.
